  • Autumn Leaves by Emily Phillips

April 23, 2026

The autumn leaves fall from the trees,

In a grandiose fashion, they swing

Like a sunset with a breeze.

I feel it in the seas,

The clash of the waves and subtle rise of the tide give the devil a ring.

The autumn leaves still falling from the trees.

The sky begins to turn, a deep shade of gray,

The rustle and crumble are slow to be heard,

Like a sunset with a cold and frigid breeze.

Soon it will be winter, cold clings to the air,

Almost all the leaves have fallen, if they dare.

The autumn leaves hang tight so to not fall from the trees.

Winter is here, the cold dead silence in waiting for spring,

Leaves are gone, trees bare and light but a glimmer of peace,

Like a fading sunset on a hopeful, peaceful breeze.

The old has passed away, the new buds begin to bloom,

Spring brings all of its green and flowers too.

But all too soon the autumn leaves fall from the trees

And with it, a sunset with a breeze takes them too.
